Refractive Errors

Refractive Errors

In eyes with normal vision, light focus on the light sensitive retina. Once the retina senses light, it converts the light into image that you see. in refractive errors, the eyes are unable to focus on the retina. This results blurred vision

Symptoms

Blurred vision

Double vision

Headache

Eye Strain

Type of refractive errors

Short-Sight (Myopia)

In Short sightedness, the light rays from an object form the image in front of the retina. Distant object are blurry, but object at near remains clear

Long-Sight (Hyperopia)

Hyperopia is when light focuses behind the retina because the eye is too smart. Distant object look clear, while near objects are blurry

Astigmatism

Astigmatism occurs when the curve of the cornea is irregular. This makes vision blurry at any distance

Treatment

Eye glasses

Astigmatism occurs when the curve of the cornea is irregular. This makes vision blurry at any distance

Refractive Surgery

Astigmatism occurs when the curve of the cornea is irregular. This makes vision blurry at any distance

Contact lens

Astigmatism occurs when the curve of the cornea is irregular. This makes vision blurry at any distance

Presbyopia

It is condition associated with the aging of the eye that results in progressively worsening ability to focus clearly on the close objects

Symptoms

Difficulty to reading small print

Having to hold reading material far away

Eye Strain

Eye Glass

Contact Lens
